When creating a facebook page or a Twitter profile for your business, it is important to think about what your username may be.
Looking at twitter, you may have noticed that a Twitter username is something like @likedbydesign.
Twitter make it easy for users as their username automatically converts into the url. For example www.twitter.com/likedbydesign.
The only problem you will have is if someone has taken your username. This is becoming more frequent as twitter grows its network base.
Perhaps adding a underscore between words might do the trick. For example @bobs_auto
For facebook, your username can be different from your actual page name, not that their is any reason for it to be.
Facebook will allow you to add a custom URL to your page (username) after you have 25 fans. Again these usernames are quite competitive and if you don’t get what you want, I recommend using full-stops in between words.
For example if you cant get www.facebook.com/companyname try www.facebook.com/company.name
